A novel approach!

They say that change starts with younger generations and that certainly seems to be the case in France, where boys are wearing skirts to school in an effort to tackle gender inequality.

According to the Huffington Post, education chiefs in Nantes caused controversy by inviting male pupils to take a stand against sexism and inequality by wearing skirts to school for one day last week.

Over twenty schools in the city took part in the ‘Lift The Skirt’ initiative, with male pupils given the option of ditching their trousers for the day and replacing them with a skirt or wearing a sticker to support the event, reading “I am fighting against sexism, are you?”.

However, the move drew criticism from representatives of France’s anti gay right movement, who called for the day to be cancelled.
