This bride’s IKEA wedding dress hack is a little bit strange (but totally genius)

Needs must...

Wedding dresses – often dreamy but not always practical.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of walking down the aisle in an absolute meringue of a gown, fancy yourself as a boho bride or just want something understated and elegant for your big day, it’s fair to say that most wedding dresses are a bit of a hassle to wear all day long.

Going to the loo is probably one of the trickiest things to do in one, making it one of the top jobs that bridesmaids are roped into helping with.

A photo doing the rounds online shows the handy IKEA hack one enterprising bride came up with to let her pee in peace.

Rather than a complicated pulley system fashioned from some type of blinds cord, the woman simply cut a hole in the bottom of an IKEA bag and put it under her dress to allow her to go.

It meant the dress didn’t trail on the floor and there was no need for a gang of bridesmaids in the cubicle with her – two birds, one stone.

There’s a lot to unpack in the above picture – the choice of emoji for covering the bride’s face; the rather unglamorous bathroom at the wedding venue; the amount of toilet paper she’s using; the fact that the woman is allowing herself to be photographed at all – but the biggest thing puzzling us is the fact that she’s wearing black knickers under her wedding dress.

Sure, each to their own.
