Every morning, Masha returns to Novosibirsk District Hospital Number One, the hospital where her owner died.
Her owner, an elderly man from the village of Dvurechie, arrived at the hospital with his dog almost two years ago.
While he was in the hospital, Masha was his only visitor and she would return to their home every night to keep watch over it, coming back to the hospital in the morning.
Since her owner passed away over a year ago, Masha has repeated this pattern every day.
Staff at the Siberian hospital do their best to look after the dog by providing her with a warm bed and food.
"You see her eyes, how sad they are - it's not the usual shiny eyes for when a dog is happy. You can see this in animals in the same way as with people," Dr Vladimir Bespalov told Novosibirsk Vesti TV.
He said: "There is nothing medicine can do for her here, but we are still hoping that Masha will be able to find another owner."One day, and we very much want this day to come soon, our Masha will trust somebody".
Alla Vorontsova, one of the nurses at the hospital, said that a family recently tried to adopt Masha.
They brought her home on a Friday evening but by Monday morning, she had returned to the hospital.
