‘It breaks my heart…’ Why one Euromillions winner is vowing to tackle homelessness

Niamh Maher

A Dublin woman has made an emotional promise.

The lucky DailyMillion plus prize winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her ticket in Palmerstown, on Saturday February 25th.

After collecting her total winnings of €500,000 today, she outlined her plans to assist in the battle against homelessness;

“As a proud Dublin woman, it breaks my heart to see so many ordinary decent people become homeless in our city,” she said.

“To celebrate my win, I will spend today visiting as many homeless people as I can to assist them financially. In the long term, I will commit to a plan to help as many as I can.”

Also collecting at National Lottery offices today was a Kerry man who claimed €154,280 in last Friday’s EuroMillions draw.
