Forget your highlighter and get some probiotics or you know, yogurt.
Glowing skin really is the holy grail when it comes to beauty and although we can fake it with some make-up, there’s nothing quite like the real deal.
According to the experts, there’s only one way to achieve that healthy glow and that’s by eating the right foods.
Refined foods are often rich in fat and lacking in fibre which in turn has an adverse effect on your digestive system.
The good news is yogurt (the key word in this article) is a probiotic and it can be used to fight against skin inflammation.
Whitney Bowe, a New-York based dermatologist, spoke to Elle about how eating foods rich in probiotics can help balance your body while increasing the amount of good bacteria you’re consuming.
Probiotics also help to decrease inflammation which helps to balance your digestive tract and in turn, help settle your skin.
Dr. Bowe, who has conducted extensive research on the topic, said:
“Both internal and external application of probiotics have been shown to affect the skin in a significant way.
“For antiaging, and also to help with chronic skin conditions—things like acne, rosacea, and eczema”.
I definitely neglect my probiotic intake and the good news is you have a couple of options when it comes to probiotics.
Try miso soup, sauerkraut and it worse comes to worse, you can opt for a daily probiotic supplement.
