WhatsApp has quickly become one of the most popular apps, with a key quality being its ability to allow the user to communicate with large groups of people at one time.
It is for this reason that an Irish family decided to make a WhatsApp group to stay in contact with individuals at home and abroad.
No one appreciates someone who can’t keep a secret, which is why Mary Sheanon decided to send a screenshot of a family WhatsApp conversation onto to our lovely brothers over at JOE.ie.
For the last year, Mary’s brother John has been travelling around the world and after hearing the news that their eldest brother had gotten engaged, he decided to plan a special surprise trip home at Christmas.
So overwhelmed by the good news, John’s father sent his son a message to express his delight at the homecoming surprise and instead of sending it just to his son, he sent it via the family group.
Needless to say John was less than impressed and responded promptly with “gobshite”.
Judging by John’s mother’s exclamation marks, she too seems happy with the news.
