The New Year is a time for new beginnings and New Year’s resolutions. The majority of folk make promises and only very few of us actually achieve the goals we set for ourselves. 

If you’re eager to make 2015 the year that you take control of your health, create a new career path, tick off some items on your ‘bucket list’, pick up a new talent or whatever else you may want to achieve, there is absolutely no reason why you can’t.

American woman, Lizzie Velasquez, suffers from a rare syndrome that has prevented her from ever gaining weight, and has left her with only partial vision.

Once dubbed the “world’s ugliest woman”, Lizzie vowed not to let her conditions define who she is and asks the audience to have a think about what defines each of us as individuals.

 

Meg Jay – Why 30 is not the new 20. 

Clinical psychologist Meg Jay has a bold message for twentysomethings: Contrary to popular belief, your 20s are not a throwaway decade.

Jay gives three pieces of advice for how twentysomethings can re-claim adulthood in the defining decade of their lives.

 

Tracy McMillan – The person you really need to marry.

Author and screenwriter (Mad Men) Tracy McMillan discusses how she has been married and divorced three times however refuses to accept the notion that these are ‘failed’ relationships.

Elizabeth Gilbert – Success, failure and the drive to keep creating.

Rejection is something that we all face at some stage in our lives, Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, openly discussing the battle she had before her success.
