You can always rely on a flapper dress
Simple but effective, nothing spells glamour like a flapper dress.
If you’re going to throw a party, make it a big one
If there’s one character who knows how to throw a party, it’s Jay Gatsby. Hello champagne and fireworks!
Don’t say the name Daisy
Unless of course you want a broken nose.
You can be whoever you want to be
On one hand it says you can’t hide your true self but on the other it says you can be the person you’ve always wanted to be. (Well for a little while anyway.)
Sometimes a green light is just a green light
It could signify a dream. It could also stand for money. Then again it could just be a green light.
Don’t move to a place named after something you eat
Who ever thought that a place called West Egg would be a good place to settle down?
Appearances can be deceptive
Just like your parents said when you were younger, not everyone is who they appear to be so keep your wits about you.
Keep it in your pants
Adultery is bad.
Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer
Aah, the old classic…
Sometimes the past is better left alone
It’s called the past for a reason you know!
