If your boyfriend is the little spoon, they make a better partner (apparently)

Olivia Hayes

Well, this is interesting.

If you’re in a relationship… or not… then at some point or another you’re going to be the little spoon.

In hetrosexual couples, sometimes the man ends up being the little spoon (even if they don’t like it), however a survey found that 55 percent worry about being mocked by their mates about it.

BUT tell your man to fear not because a recent study by the McKeown Clinic found that men who are the little spoon turn out to be better partners.

Steve McKeown, psychoanalyst and founder of the clinic said: “Men that prefer to be the little spoon are more likely to be submissive, sensitive, pleasing and in touch with their feminine side.

“A male that is in touch with his sensitive side can be more compassionate and definitely a contrast from the traditional male.

“Men who little spoon tend to be more emotionally intelligent, which is a major plus point in any relationship.”

He also added that the spooning position is all about assurance and being exposed, both physically and emotionally.

“The spoon position demonstrates a dynamic in which one partner takes a protective stance over the other. It’s a vulnerable position that says ‘I trust you’.

“This type of protection has once been a stereotype of male dominance over the women but not anymore. Times have changed as women are now somewhat freer to assert their dominance in all aspects of life.”

Think you might want to go home and tell your boyfriend this tonight…
