A new survey has found that shopping can be just as stimulating and exciting as sex. Scientists have found that 'inspired shoppers' can get a high from shopping, and the physiological effects can be compared to intercourse. The researchers analyzed gamma brain waves, which are linked to extreme pleasure, and divided the shoppers into two categories. The first category were 'inspired shoppers', who bought clothes to make them feel good, while the second category were named 'shop-y-cats', who shopped just to fit in. The survey, which was conducted by Myndplay, found that 84 percent of 'inspired shoppers' would get a high when buying clothes. “This fascinating research gives great insight into the highs that can be achieved when you hit the zone of inspiration and shop like nobody else," said Ebay's Rob Hattrell. While 'shop-y-cats' experienced a high too, it was very short lived.
