Not everyone will be happy with Instagram's latest update
Instagram Stories have received a mixed reaction from users since it launched, some think it is far too similar to Snapchat and others just don't seem too bothered by the fact that it exists at all.
If you scanned Instagram last night or this morning, then you probably noticed the newest feature which now includes 'Stories' from people you don't even follow on your Explore page.
A blog post from the social media platform explains the reason for this change:
"Starting today, you’ll begin to see Instagram Stories on Explore.
"We announced Instagram Stories in August as a new feature for sharing everyday moments. Now, with stories on Explore, it’s easier than ever to discover new stories you’ll want to watch.
"More than 100 million people visit Explore every day to discover photos and videos from people they don’t yet follow.

"The new suggested stories section highlights the most interesting stories from across Instagram’s vast global community — and like the rest of Explore, the stories you’ll see are personalized to your interests".
The new feature has both advantages and disadvantages: it could lead to new followers for those who use the feature regularly but it could also get every annoying to have all these random accounts popping up on your page.
According to The Verge, Instagram says that one-third of its million users have started using the Stories feature and it will be interesting to see how the latest update fares.
