People in the UK are bringing puppies to polling stations and it’s too much cuteness

This is a sure sign of doggy democracy.

The much-anticipated Brexit vote is upon us, with the UK hitting the polls to decide whether or not to remain in the EU.

The referendum is a historic one and the outcome for Britain and the rest of Europe will be huge.

Despite the great divide between the ‘remain’ and ‘leave’ sides, it seems like the people of Britain are at least united over one important issue today… their love of dogs.

To break up the monotony of waiting to hear the news, Twitter users have decided to show their democratic spirit by posting pictures at the polling stations encouraging people to get out and vote.

They’re not photos of themselves, however; no no, much better, they are posting pictures of their canine counterparts.

The #dogsatpollingstations began trending on Twitter earlier today alongside hundreds of snaps of adorable pooches accompanying their owners to vote.

The hashtag which is blowing up on Twitter has gathered a huge following with people all over the world tweeting their support.

If there’s one thing we love it’s dogs doing their bit for democracy. We need to get this started in Ireland for the next general election.

Then there is always that one person who takes it too far…
