Review: Aisling is back and better than ever in Once, Twice, Three Times an Aisling

Keeley Ryan

Aisling is back, and she’s better than ever.

Following the success of Oh My God, What A Complete Aisling and The Importance of Being Aisling, the third installment of the Aisling novels officially hits shelves today.

Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen’s One, Twice, Three Times an Aisling is full of heartwarming, emotional and laugh out loud moments that will make you want to keep reading until the very last page.

The book picks up with Aisling’s 30th birthday fast approaching, as she tries to plan the hen party of the century for her newly-engaged best friend, Majella.

Business is booming at BallyGoBrunch and her romance with James Matthews is still going strong – but for Aisling, something seems to be missing.

It doesn’t help that her ex, John, is around just about every corner – and with his new girlfriend, Megan, too.

And when a mysterious American turns up in town with a proposition for her, Aisling is left trying to figure out how to pull off the opportunity of a lifetime.

Add in an alpaca farm, a globetrotting friend undertaking a career change, and her brother Paul’s return from Oz – well, it’s pretty safe to say that Aisling has her hands full this time around.

But when doubts and worries – and not to mention an unfortunate clash – threaten to get her down, Aisling digs down deep to see if she has enough strength (and inspirational quotes) to make it through.

Throughout all her ups and downs in the novel, Aisling still has the same charm of a long lost friend that will be there in your time of need (with a bottle of Pinot Greej in hand, of course).

And most importantly, she’s unapologetically herself – no matter what life happens to throw at her.

One, Twice, Three Times an Aisling is the third of five planned Aisling novels – and we can’t wait to see where she is going to end up next.

  • Once, Twice, Three Times an Aisling is published by Gill Books. It is available in stores now for €14.99.

A good book can do just about anything; from taking you on a wild and fantastical adventure to making you feel like an all-knowing super sleuth (if you figure out the killer twist).
