Here are some fabulous venues for non-church weddings

These are stunning!

Laura Holland

Some gorgeous options.

I previously wrote about my choice to have a non-church wedding. I went on to write about the various options for ceremonies and what they all mean.

Now, I’m at the stage where I am picking a venue for the ceremony and I was surprised by the amount of locations which can hold beautiful ceremonies and also cater for your meal and celebrations afterwards.

Most of the venues featured below can host your entire day but one particular venue, Dublin Zoo, you can only rent for the ceremony but I HAD to include it.

The ZOO, imagine the pictures.

Dublin Zoo

Not only do you have a unique wedding venue, when you get married at Dublin Zoo, you also have a chance to make a contribution to the conservation of some of the world’s most magnificent animals.

Dublin Zoo offers couples an amazing opportunity to say “I Do” at the Zoo. Wedding ceremonies take place at Haughton House, a venue surrounded by lawns and mature trees, and it is also available for wedding blessings and humanist ceremonies.

The house’s flexible design allows it to accommodate various different layouts for up to 80 people. For more information, or to book Haughton House, call our dedicated Events Team on (01) 474 8997 or email [email protected]

AnnaCarriga, Co. Clare

AnnaCarriga is a beautiful secluded venue overlooking Lough Derg, located just outside Killaloe Village in Co. Clare. It boasts a large glass pavilion which can cater for parties of 20 to 300.

With the stunning views you can get married on the shore of Lough Derg, but the inside pavilion is equally as beautiful for your wedding ceremony.

AnnaCarriga is located 40 km from Limerick City, 55Km from Shannon, 83km from Galway and 187km from Dublin. For all the wedding enquiries contact [email protected].

Dromquinna Manor, Kenmare

Drumquinna has a beautiful waterfront venue with indoor and outdoor options for your wedding, you can either get married in their private suite or on the lawns overlooking Kenmare Bay, both are very special.

It can comfortably cater for 80-180 guests and when you reserve The Manor for your wedding, the entire house is yours, and so it becomes your playground for your day.

For more information about Dromquinna and how they can help create your special day contact them on [email protected].

Kilshane House, Tipperary

Built in 1822, Kilshane House is an elegant and spacious Regency house built near Bansha, Tipperary.

Weddings can take place in the large glass conservatory with guests being invited into the main dining room afterwards for the meal. Set on 320 acres, you have lots of opportunities for the perfect wedding photo on their grounds.

It’s truely a stunning venue and can be the perfect place for your wedding.

Village At Lyons, Kildare

Village at Lyons ticks all the boxes as an exclusive and special civil ceremony or civil partnership venue.

There are a number of ceremony venue options catering for every size wedding.

The original curvilinear Orangery can seat 110 guests or you could opt for The Mill which has a 160 seated capacity. It’s a popular ceremony venue with a stunning backdrop of the cascading waterfall.

If you’re looking for a more intimate ceremony The San Pietro has a 20 seated capacity and is located on a small island surrounded by a lake accessed via a causeway.
