Over a ten year period from 2004 to 2013, 2,738 people were killed on the roads. Of these, 92 were cyclists and 531 were pedestrians. A further 3,684 cyclists and 9,576 pedestrians were injured (both serious and minor injuries) in that time.
We're getting behind the latest Road Safety Authority campaign, 'Put Yourself In Their Shoes,' designed to raise awareness about vulnerable road users, mainly cyclists and pedestrians.
