Someone was quick off the mark.

The concert cancellations were only confirmed a number of hours ago, but it didn’t take long for one Garth Gate observer to mark the moment in the history books. (Ok, well internet history)

There’s been a new inclusion to the Garth Brooks Wikipedia page – and it’s a quite concise synopsis of the concert drama that’s been plaguing the 400,000 fans this past week.

Titled ‘Ireland concerts controversy 2014’, the addition was made this afternoon, charting the popularity of the ticket sales, the resistance from local residence to Peter Aiken’s attempts to convince the crooner to play the three remaining nights.

Aiken Promotions confirmed the news in a statement this afternoon, saying the decision had been made “with great regret” and the ticket return process would be outlined tomorrow.

The entry marks the end of the saga for the ticketholders. For those who have been living under a rock the past few days, feel free to read the full extract documenting the drama unfold here.
