Taking to Facebook she explained that she had been wearing that same outfit around college before going to the gym.
"Went to 3 classes and spoke personally with each of my professors today and they didn't have a problem. But when I walked into the gym they asked me to put on a different shirt."She said that when she entered the gym a member of the team asked her to put on another shirt. She didn't have another one so she continued to work out. Another member of staff approached her and they too asked her to put on a shirt saying that she "needed full coverage". She told them that she was wearing a shirt and that she didn't have another one. After the boss was called, he told her to put on a shirt and said that if she didn't she would be asked to leave. She added an extra note at the end of her Facebook post with an update from the gym:
"The gym has since said that they kicked me out for "sanitary concerns." However, they never made those sanitary concerns clear when they asked me to change. They told me I need "more coverage" and nothing more. Not to mention, their website has no written dress code anyway. The dress code at the front of the gym simply says "Athletic wear must be worn." I would say that what I'm wearing (whether you believe it's a sports bra or a crop top) is completely normal and considered athletic wear."Here is the full post:
