Your wish has been granted: An Aussie Zoo is letting you name a snake after an ex

Amy Nolan

Just in time for Valentine’s Day…. aww!

How many times have you gone on a rager in the group chat talking about that ex-boyfriend and as part of your spiel sent in a rake of snake emojis?

Yep, Prince Charming turned out to be a bit of a liar and even though your mates caught on a lot quicker than you did, they’re still there for you as a shoulder to cry on and to verbally berate him along with you (snake emojis abound).

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, maybe said individual is popping into your mind a little more than you’d like. Instead of getting angry or upset, or maybe even to give yourself a little closure, may we suggest our master plan:

Name a snake after him.

Wild Life Sydney is offering people the chance to name a brown snake (one of the most venomous in the world) after their ex.

The competition requires entrants to explain why their ex deserves it, and also donate to its conservation fund, which aims to help Australian native wildlife by funding research and educational programs.

The winner will not only name the snake, but they will also get an annual pass to the zoo.

The winner will (quite fittingly) be announced on Valentine’s Day. But if you’re thinking a snake is too generous a creature to bestow with your ex’s name, why not consider a cockroach?

Thank U, Next.
