It’s going to be epic.

Bulmers Forbidden Fruit is at the top of our festival list this summer. We can’t wait to spend the June bank holiday weekend bopping around the Royal Hospital Kilmainham listening to all the amazing artists.

This year, there’s a wealth of female talent taking part. Here’s a round-up of the five best female artists coming to the festival. Make sure you catch their sets.

NAO

Neo Jessica Joshua, or NAO as she is better known is a singer-songwriter and producer from London. NAO has had a pretty impressive career to date playing at Glastonbury in 2015 and being nominated for best newcomer at the MOBO Awards in the same year. No doubt she’ll be playing hits like In the Morning and Girlfriend on Saturday 3rd June.

Peggy Gou

If you’re a fan of techno music then you simply can’t miss Peggy Gou’s set on Sunday 4th June. A Korean artist based in Berlin, Peggy’s fast becoming a massive name on the electronic scene so make sure you catch her Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival gig before she makes the big time.

Lisa Hannigan

Lisa Hannigan will be back and better than ever on Monday 5th June. After beginning her solo musical career in 2007, Lisa has released three amazing albums: Sea Sew, Passenger and At Swim. We can’t wait to hear her perform some of her newest tracks live when she takes some time out from her world tour to play at Bulmers Forbidden Fruit.

The Staves

Folk rock sisters The Staves will be playing Bulmers Forbidden Fruit on Monday 5th June. After touring with Bon Iver last March it looks like we could have a little reunion on our hands as he will also be playing at the festival. Who knows we might even get a duet?

BARQ

OK, so BARQ aren’t technically a female band (in fact, three of the four members are fellas), but their lead singer Jess Kav is so badass that we just had to include them. The Dublin band create amazing alt R&B tracks that will have you bopping around in no time. BARQ will be playing on The Bulmers Live Stage – 100% Irish, a new platform that will play host to 15 artists over the three days, with really strong representation from incredible female performers.
