A UK Website Has Decided That They’re Going To Call Hozier English… Even Though They Know He’s Not

Hands off!

It’s a long established fact that the UK likes to claim that everyone who has ever found success hails from their glorious country.

For example, poor old Andy Murray must have serious confusion over his identity at this stage at he is reported to be British every time he wins and Scottish every time he loses a game.

Anyway, this time, they’ve taken things too far and have decided that they want to claim platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated and Bray-born artist Hozier as their own.

Hozier-HP

In a recent article entitled #BritsBlitz about English artists who are finding success overseas, The Huffington Post UK listed the Take Me To Church singer alongside Mumford & Sons, George Ezra and Mark Ronson – before going on to acknowledge that while he is Irish, they are “happy to take him to our British bosom”.

Twitter responded with predictable rage and the publication has now retracted their glaring mistake.

Hands off lads, he’s ours!
