Boyzone to continue touring without Keith Duffy following hospitalisation in Thailand

“Just like the good film says, Thailand has got him now.”

Boyzone are to continue touring without Keith Duffy following his sudden hospitalisation in Thailand.

The singer fell ill during the band’s farewell tour this week, making him unable to perform with Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch in Bangkok.

They have since confirmed that Keith will not be joining them as they continue their string of dates across south-east Asia and Australia.

In a video shared ahead of their gig in Perth, Shane said that they “don’t know exactly what is happening with him” but that they wanted to let fans know that he wouldn’t be performing.

“Unfortunately as you can see we are only three, our Keith Duffy is lost in Thailand,” he said. “Just like the good film says, Thailand has got him now.

“He’s not well and we don’t know exactly what is happening with him at the moment. There are a lot of blood tests and one test and the other tests and he’s in the hospital right now, hopefully recovering, fingers crossed.

“So just letting you know we are one man down.”

Mikey went on to say that despite Keith’s absence, they are “soldiering on” and “looking forward” to the rest of the tour.

Boyzone are at the minute in the middle of their 25th anniversary Thank You and Good Night Tour that will take them across south-east Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

This comes just a few months after the lads bid a very tearful farewell during their last ever Irish gig.

At the start of the year, the foursome took to a packed 3Arena to say goodbye – and to thank the fans who had stuck by them over the past 25 years.
