Can The Real Adele Please Stand Up

Adele pretending to be Adele and surprising other pretend Adele’s is weirdly emotional.

So in case you missed it, Adele appeared on a BBC special with Graham Norton this evening to chat about her new album. Obvs, being such a staple of British pop culture, Adele is prone to having impersonators.

In a prank for the show, Adele donned some prosthetics and went to an audtion for the role of, well, Adele obviously.

Mingling amongst the professional Adele impersonators, real Adele cracked jokes and commented about the other performers style and likeness. She wore a fake nose and her signature “bum chin” was covered. Losing her signature accent, Adele became Jenny, a part-time nanny.

Bless the fake Adele’s cotton socks. They nervously make conversation back stage remarking about whether Real Adele would approve.

As Real Adele takes to the stage to audition, she feigns nervousness, as the other Adele’s nod and encourage her. As the penny drops, the tears fall and her hard-core fans are overwhelmed. AND SO ARE WE.

Even Graham gets a wee bit teary. Then they all sing together. Christ.

I should have been there, I sound JUST like all of them.
