We always knew he was a gentleman, but this has just confirmed it.

You might have spotted the story we did earlier that showed footage from U2’s final gig at their sold-out 3Arena show last night.

The video showed U2 frontman Bono paying tribute to the “angel of Dublin”, Aslan’s Christy Dignam.

Well it turns out the Aslan singer is definitely one of the good guys – not that we ever had any doubt – as apparently, U2 invited Christy and guitarist Joe Jewell to perform with them on stage.

However, the pair declined as they had previously made a promise to play a charity event for three young boys.

Brandon, Kallum and Keane Barrett suffer from a rare disorder called Ehler Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and they need to raise funds in order to get the necessary treatment in the UK and Belgium.

Christy and Joe performed at the fundraising event at the Radisson Blu Hotel along with band The Reflex.

The Barretts were so thrilled by Christy’s kindness that they shared the story with the lads at JOE.ie so that everyone would see what a truly good guys he is.

We all wish the three boys the very best, and if you’d like to know more, you can visit their Facebook page here.
