We've a feeling a lot of people are going to love this announcement.

Ed Sheeran is the act tipped to take Croke Park by storm this summer.

News this morning broke that another major concert would take place in the GAA headquarters later in the year and bookies wasted absolutely no time in placing odds for the most likely acts in the running for the headline gig.

It has been three months since The Script announced that they would play the 82,000 capacity stadium and the bookies believe 23-year-old Sheeran is in the lead to join the Dubliners at odds of 11/4.

It is a little over a year since Garth Brooks announced his return to music with a three night, which infamously later changed to five nights, stint at Croke Park.

The Brooks Vs the residence of Croke Park fiasco left a bitter taste in the mouth of some 440,000 ticket holders after all five gigs were cancelled.

U2 is also in the mix for the Croke Park gig with bookies placing the Irish music legends at odds of 5/4.

Other acts include Robbie Williams at 13/2, Take That and Calvin Harris at 9/1, Florence and The Machine are 8/1 and Hozier at 12/1.

Country music fans may be pleased to know that our old friend Brooks is also in there at 20/1.

We’re not sure we could cope with that all over again.

Check out our interview below with The Script minutes after they announced their show at Croker.
