Dua Lipa announces release date of upcoming album, ‘Future Nostalgia’

Finally, some good news.

It can sometimes seem as though there is nothing good left on this earth.

We’re in the midst of a climate disaster. The Coronavirus is steadily wreaking havoc across China. The movie Cats exists.

You could almost be forgiven for giving up all hope.

That was, until, Dua Lipa announced the release date of her upcoming album and all was well in the world again.

Class.

The star’s upcoming second studio album, Future Nostalgia, will be dropping onto streaming platforms and into stores on April 3.

And as if that wasn’t enough Dua to keep us entirely happy and unequivocally delighted, her latest single ‘Physical’ is also out tomorrow, January 31.

You truly do love to hear it.

Dua said last year that she wanted her new record to be equal parts fresh and futuristic.

“What I wanted to do with this album was to break out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to make music that felt like it could sit alongside some of my favourite classic pop songs, whilst still feeling fresh and uniquely mine,” she said.

“I was inspired by so many artists on the new record from Gwen Stefani to Madonna to Moloko to Blondie and Outkast, to name just a few.

“I wanted to make was something that felt nostalgic but had something fresh and futuristic about it too.”

The 24 year old announced last year that she will ending the European leg of her upcoming tour in Ireland, with two gigs in the 3Arena on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June.

Future Nostalgia is released on April 3.
