The lineup was released this afternoon.

An Electric Picnic organiser has commented on the absence of female headliners from this year’s festival.

Rage Against The Machine, Snow Patrol, The Chemical Brothers, Picture This, and Lewis Capaldi were announced as the five headliners of September’s three day festival today.

No female artists are present in this year’s headliners.

Speaking at the Electric Picnic 2020 lineup launch in Dublin today, Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn said that there “isn’t a gender balance ability” across all festivals this year.

“We always book acts on the basis on what’s available, who’s touring, and their capacity to be a headliner,” he said.

“That’s always our position, and we won’t change that. We’re completely committed to bringing women through into all of the lineups, but there isn’t a gender balance ability across the headliners generally at the moment, and all festivals reflect that.”

Tickets for this year’s Electric Picnic sold out last year.

Also performing over the course of the three day festival will be Run The Jewels, Bicep, Ian Brown, Foals, Skepta, Vincent McMorrow, Annie Mac, Mabel, Rick Astley, and more.

The festival will run from Friday September 4 to Sunday September 6.
