Popular music festival Glastonbury has been given a new 10-year licence.

According to Digital Spy, Mendip District Council said that the licence was granted in order to avoid “scrutiny in a public hearing”.

The decision to grant the licence means that the annual music festival will be running up until at least 2024, with more staff allowed access onto the famous site.

It’s reported that passes for staff and performances may rise by 25,500 to a whopping 63,000 by 2024, but the number of tickets will remain at 135,000.

This year, country legend Dolly Parton has confirmed that she will be playing, along with Arcade Fire, Blondie, Lily Allen and Disclosure.

More acts are yet to be confirmed. This year’s festival begins on June 25th.
