Here Comes Your Man: Pixies Announce First Full Studio Album in Two Decades

They're back!

They’re playing Marlay Park with Arctic Fire this summer and rockers The Pixies have just confirmed that they will also release a brand new album next month.

Indie Cindy will be the band’s first full studio album since 1991’s Trompe le Monde and will be released in Ireland on 25 April on the band’s own independent label, Pixiesmusic.

“We started seriously talking about recording new music about four years ago,” said drummer David Lovering.  “New music seemed like something we just had to do, we just couldn’t continue to go out and tour without anything new.  So the talk evolved into writing and recording, and we’re all very happy with the way everything worked out.”

Indie Cindy was produced by Gil Norton, producer of the band’s classic DoolittleBossanova and Trompe le Monde albums, and recorded during October 2012 at Rockfield Studios in Wales.

The album will be available in a selection of formats and eager beavers can get their hands on their copy a week before the official release date as The Pixies will unveil a special Record Store Day limited edition, two-disc vinyl set through independent record stores to mark the occasion on 19 April.
