Here’s the Trailer Park Line-Up for 2015 at Electric Picnic

The countdown is on!

Rebecca McKnight

With just over a week to go to Electric Picnic 2015, we’re busy making road trip playlists and stocking up on baby wipes.

Today, there is yet another reason to look forward to EP with the line-up confirmation for fun and frolics in the Trailer Park.

The mobiletropolis, exclusive to Electric Picnic, is billed as an “homage to the humble holiday caravan, the glittering airstream, the vaudeville circus van”, and the wild imaginations unearthed in the wildly random ‘Design Caravan Competition’ announced earlier this year.

Joined-up, stacked campers, vintage caravans, re-styled mobile homes, up-conditioned retro trailers, and an eccentric community of performers, stylers, feeders and imbibers, cultural clinicians, oddball vaudevillians, brazen architects, exotic hula and burlesque dancers will all find their home in this EP haven.

Burlesque

The Mobile Home Stage plays host to bands in the living room, bedroom, kitchen and lavatory of a repurposed mobile home. Lit by the phenomenal Colour Sound Experiment who will transform the joint, this is the beating heart of Trailer Park.

Having undergone a restoration, Jimmie Lees Juke Joint looks ahead to its best ever year. Creole fare – gumbo, cornbread and jambalaya – will be served up to revellers in the exquisitely authentic old tin-roofed timber barn, and the music – soulful, southern blues, Louisiana jazz, Waitsian gowls, bayou sirens.

Cathy Davey returns with her My Lovely Ranch party paddock – with an assortment of her rescued horses, donkeys, dogs – and an assembly of musician and comedian friends to take to the stage.

Caravanaoke is back, as is The Mad Deprogramming Machine, Car au Vin, the extraordinary Lord Ganesh’s Larder, Science Gallery’s Makeshop Caravan, My Big Fat Redneck Divorce…..

And the newcomers? A Priscilla Queen of the Desert Bus called Gladrags and Glamfags; a chance to tie the knot in The Viva Electric Picnic Chapel; fly like Superman over Manhattan in the virtual reality caravan Holodeck; the ghoulish horror show in The Funeral Parlour; a double decker bus dropped out of the sky and arm-wrestling and shots at the Olde World Travelling Show.
