So Beyoncé did a Beyoncé and dropped a new album in the depths of the night.
Lemonade features 12 new tracks and according to a statement by Tidal, it is a “conceptual project based on every woman’s journey of self-knowledge and healing.”
The album includes guest appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, James Blake and the Weeknd and samples music from Led Zeppelin, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Father John Misty and Animal Collective.
B teased the album with thriller-like clips prior to its release. Serena Williams and Jay-Z make guest appearances in the film but didn’t make it onto the album. Unsurprisingly – Serena is a tennis player after all.
The album has been released exclusively on Tidal I can’t hear it in full because like the rest of the world I have a Spotify account.
Apparently it’s very good.
