James Bay has been announced as the BBC Sound of 2015 runner-up.

The 24-year-old joined BBC Radio One’s Huw Stephen’s today as he was announced in second place of the music poll, along with previously announced George The Poet, Raury and Stormzy.

Bay, who won this year’s Brit Awards Critics Choice Award, announced details of his eagerly awaited debut album ‘Chaos and the Calm’.

Working alongside Grammy award-winning Kings Of Leon producer, Jacquire King, the singer-songwriter recorded the debut album in Nashville’s Blackbird Studios.

‘Chaos and the Calm’ chronicles the feelings, thoughts and fears of an artist in transition; the narrative deals with escapism, self-discovery, and the emotional adjustments required to keep up with his fast-changing circumstances. It is due for Irish release on March 30th.

This is one album we cannot wait to get our hands on.

Bay joined The Sunday Sessions for a chat and two acoustic performances last month, check out this stripped back rendition of latest hit ‘Hold Back The River’.
