We have a lot of love for this girl...

Her

Bridie Monds-Watson a.k.a SOAK is without doubt one of the country’s most promising rising stars.

The 18-year-old from Derry kicked off BBC Radio One’s brand new venture Piano Sessions last night in fantastic fashion.

SOAK performed two tracks, her latest single ‘B A noBody‘ and took on Taylor Swift’s current hit ‘Shake It Off’.

Fearne Cotton played the teenager on her show today, which was met by an outpour of praise from listeners, with one referring to the SOAK as ‘a female Ben Howard’.

Last month, The Derry native performed two absolutely stunning tracks for The Sunday Session.

‘B A Nobody’ is SOAK’s first musical offering since being signed to Rough Trade and is available to download now.

‘Explosions’ was the second recording from Derry native, taken from her successful EP Blud that was released earlier in the year.

SOAK plays Derry’s Christ Church Friday November 7th and Dublin’s Unitarian Church on Saturday November 8th. Support is from Gabriel Paschal Black and tickets are available from Ticketmaster now. This is one not to be missed.

You can download your digital copy of SOAK’s Blud EP here. For more you can check out SOAK on FacebookTwitter or soakmusic.net.
