Miley Cyrus’ new single Malibu was released today and not only that, but the music video too.
Miley previously revealed that the song was about longtime boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, and it’s hard to dispute that after listening to the lyrics.
Malibu holds a firm place in Miley and Liam’s hearts as their new home and a place where Liam loves to surf.
“I never came to the beach and stood by the ocean,
I never sat by the shore under the sun with my feet in the sand.
But you brought me here, and I’m happy that you did,
‘Cause now I’m as free as birds catching the wind.”
The song is a major departure from her 2013 release Bangerz and that VMA performance.
And fans are reacting well to the change, with the Twittesphere showing her major love.
