LINE-UP BREAKDOWN

On Friday local lad DAIRE CAROLAN – founder of First Second Records, part-time skateboard aficionado and full-time DJ extraordinaire will get the ball rolling with a characteristically banging set.

He’ll be joined on Friday by RBMA favourite and alumnus of the Red Bull Music Academy SPACE DIMENSION CONTROLLER, aka Belfast’s Jack Hamill – a bit of a wunderkind when it comes to creating some seriously innovative electronica and house tunes.

Heading up the bill on Friday is Leeds man PAUL WOOLFORD, a resident at Space in Ibiza and a man with enough experience of festival crowds to ensure that Friday night at Electric Picnic is going to be banging – his renowned fusion of house, electronica and hip-hop is perfect for the Picnic crowd.

Saturday’s line-up is equally sweet, with two prospects in Irish house and techno – Morgan Buckley and Boya – teaming up under the WINO BOYZ moniker to get things moving. With the former’s recent release on Rush Hour earning comparisons to Arthur Russell, and the latter releasing on NYC’s famed Mister Saturday Night, we can’t wait to see what they get up to with their powers combined.  Their set will be followed by Dublin-based, Italian-born underground DJ and producer Leopoldo Rosa aka LEROSA, whose eclectic blend of techno, house and Italo disco will no doubt keep the dancefloor nicely jammed.

TODD TERRY will headline the RBMA stage on Saturday night. The Brooklyn man has become a legend of the house scene over the last three decades, his career gaining both the respect of the underground as well as encompassing mainstream chart success.

DJs from Dublin club night/record label LUNAR DISKO are in charge of opening Day 3. Then it’s Carlow’s finest Eddie Reynolds and Dean Feeney, two names you might know as the men behind the TR-ONE moniker. The techno/house duo have a habit of catching their listeners off-guard, their songs morphing from blissful funked-up beats to club bangers in the blink of an eyelid – so you can expect their live set to do the same.

Joining them will be NEW JACKSON, practically a stalwart of the Irish electronica scene at this point and the side project of David Kitt. Make sure to catch his vibrant dance tracks to see exactly why he’s been so busy impressing European audience over the last couple of years.

Dublin’s Dec Lennon aka KRYSTAL KLEAR, an alumnus of the Red Bull Music Academy, will be back as a Sunday headliner. Nile Rodgers and Kerri Chandler have requested his services over the last few years and there’s no question that he’ll ensure that the RBMA stage at Electric Picnic will go out with a bang.
