Not a day goes by without another heartfelt (and widely publicised) attempt by Robin Thicke to win back ex-wife Paula Patton but it seems that the music-buying public has had enough.

Early reports in the UK suggest that Thicke’s new album Paula will be a major flop after disappointing sales in its first week of release. According to Gigwise, the album will enter the midweek charts at number 200 after selling just 530 copies.

Paula is dedicated to the Blurred Lines star’s wife, from whom he separated in February amid cheating rumours and that infamous performance with Miley Cyrus. Speaking about the album, Thicke admitted that “at this point, the only reason we’re not together is because of choices that I made”.

“The album is what happens when you lose the love of your life and you try to figure out in your head like; ‘How am I gonna move on?’. Because we weren’t together anymore, I had so much that I still wanted to apologize for and take responsibility for and that’s what the album is about.”

“Last year was really just kind of a blur in many ways, no pun intended. Everything happened so fast and you don’t realize all the things that come with it. I changed and I got a little too selfish and a little too greedy and a little too full of myself.”

The album has done better in America, selling 25,000 copies in its first week, and is expected to debut in the top ten of the Billboard 200.
