Say Hello! Gavin James Announces Olympia Date

We predict a sell-out in about three seconds...

Calling all Lucky fans: homegrown hero and Ed Sheeran’s musical crush Gavin James has announced his biggest Dublin show to date.

The rising star will play The Olympia Theatre on Friday 20th March.

Twenty-two-year-old James, who won the Choice Music Prize for ‘Song of the Year’ has seen his debut EP Say Hello remain on the Irish chart for over six months.

As well as his solo del-out shows, Gavin has supported the likes of Lianne La Havas, James Blunt, Beth Orton, Kodaline and Marina & The Diamonds.

It seems as though music is in the blood for the star; Gavin’s great grandparents on his mother’s side were both famous Irish Opera singers and had their own albums released in the early 1900’s. He started playing the guitar at the age of eight, gigging around Dublin’s Temple bar. While working on his live technique, his confidence was growing, ultimately leading him to sign his record deal and he now joins ‘Good Solider Songs’ impressive roster alongside David Gray, Biffy Clyro, Birdy and The 1975.

James is set to release his live album on November 28th via Warner Music, which is a selection of new and old songs performed in the stripped-back environment recorded “Live at Whelans” and looks set to be replicated worldwide with the release of fleshed-out studio recordings and his debut album next year.

Tickets for Gavin’s Show at The Olympia Theatre are priced €20.00 including booking fee and will be on sale from Thursday the 13th of Nov 2014 through Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
