Simon Amstell, David O’Doherty, Seann Walsh and Jason Byrne have all been announced for this year’s Electric Picnic.

Nominated for a BAFTA for his work Grandma’s House and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Simon Amstell will make his Picnic debut at this year’s festival, while Stradbally stalwart David O Doherty’s will bring his new show and usual mix of lo-fi musical charm and beautifully crafted one-liners to the event.

Charming and charismatic, Brighton’s Seann Walsh has sold out shows all over the world following his appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and will be joined by the biggest selling comedian ever at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jason Byrne, whose inspired brand of high energy intelligent lunacy ensures there is no other comedian like him.

Other acts confirmed for this year’s event include Rubberbandits, Abandoman, David McSavage, John Colleary and Patrick McDonnell, as well as the legendary Steve Frost Improv Allstars, Aisling Bea, Bec Hill and Gunther Grun.

It’s been quite a year for madcap comedy sketch trio Foil Arms and Hog and those who haven’t seen this innovative group are in for a special treat.

The cream of the Irish comedy circuit crop is well represented with stalwarts like Eleanor Tiernan, Chris Kent, Jarlath Regan, Colm O’Regan, Karl Spain, Colum McDonnell, Fred Cooke and Eric Lalor, all set to keep the heavenly banter and witty badinage going over the weekend.

The Electric Picnic Comedy tent always likes to nurture and help new talent and this year is no exception with Al Porter, Kevin McGahern (Republic Of Telly), Tomie James, Trevor Browne and Steve Bennett all getting to perform on the biggest stage of their careers so far.

MC for the weekend will be Danny Dowling and the Comedy Tent runs from 1.15pm to 9pm each day on Saturday Aug 30th and Sunday August 31st.
