Mullingar band The Academic has this week announced their biggest headline show to date, which will see them playing Vicar Street on March 11th.
The news follows their sold out show at Whelan’s recently and comes off the back of their hugely successful Irish and UK tour dates.

The hugely talented quartet have become firm favourites with music lovers in Ireland since forming in 2013 and were also a massive hit at our recent Sunday Sessions Live Gig at Whelan’s where they were joined by Little Hours and David Keenan.
Their debut single Different became a major hit, and went on to become the number one independent song at Irish radio this year.
They also recently released their debut EP Loose Friends so it looks like we’re going to be hearing a lot more of them in the coming months.

“We have been very fortunate to have had the chance to play in some amazing venues over the last year but Vicar Street is special to us as a band,” said singer Craig Fitzgerald.
“March 11th is going to be the biggest headline show of our career and we couldn’t think of another place we would want to be.’’
Tickets priced at €19 (inc booking fee) go on sale Friday 13th November at 9am through the usual outlets nationwide.
