Start the way you mean to go on…

As part of the New Years Festival Dublin, The Coronas are gearing up to headline the Three Countdown Concert at the 3Arena in what will be one of the final and greatest gigs of the year.

They will be keeping good company – Fatboy Slim, Ryan Sheridan, Little Hours and KILA will join the lads, and you can too by entering our giveaway (details on Facebook).

Ahead of the night, we sat down with the lads to chat about New Years Eve and their best moments of 2015.

1. New Year’s Eve – love it or hate it and why?

“It’s normally a bit of an anti-climax isn’t it, but obviously, this year in the 3Arena will be different. We normally just go down to Dingle and take it easy…”

2. Who would be your ideal plus Three guests to bring to a New Year’s Eve party?

“Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of The Coronas (I know that’s technically four people, but…)”.

3. Who’s the first person you call at midnight on NYE?

“We will be onstage this year, but we would normally call our mammies”.

4. Apart from 2015 when you will be playing to nearly 14,000 fans in 3Arena, tell us about the best New Year’s Eve you have had?

“The last time we played the New Year’s gig in Dublin was a highlight, but we always enjoy our time in Dingle…”

5. What were the highlights of 2015 for the band?

“It would have to be between our sold out 3Arena show earlier in the year, our main stage slot at EP or our recent tour of Australia and New Zealand”.

6. Best moment?

“Walking onstage at EP and seeing the size of the crowd we had, the whole arena must have been there”.

7. A moment to forget?

“The jet lag in Australia wasn’t great”.

8. Tell us about your current tour in Australia?

“We are actually just home from it and it went great. Most of the shows were sold-out and we got a bit of down time to go to the beach and top up our Christmas tans although we all just came away looking like lobsters J”.

9. When can fans expect a new album?

“It will probably be this time next year or early 2017”.

10. Any major events in your schedule for 2016?

“We will have a few big shows in Ireland along with a European and UK tour and we will hopefully start writing and recording our new album”.

11. What does Christmas mean to the band?

“A few pints of Guinness in Dublin with friends and family!”

12. What can fans expect from your NYE show?

“Lots of energy along with a mixture of our four albums. Danny has been fond of a bit of crowd surfing recently also”.
