One of Ireland’s most interesting songwriters, Conor O’Brien is back with a new album but music fans expecting an expansive affair similar to Villagers’ previous releases were in for a surprise.
Darling Arithmetic is an altogether more intimate and stripped-back affair, which finds O’Brien at his most confessional and candid; while it may take a slightly different direction from predecessors Becoming A Jackal and {Awayland}, it has received a warm welcome from the artist’s fan faithful.
To celebrate the release of the collection, O’Brien joined us at The Workman’s Club to perform new track Courage and a cover of The Beatles In My Life.
Enjoy!
