This week the exceptionally talented Wyvern Lingo joined the The Sunday Sessions at The Workman’s, Dublin, for what might arguably be our best session yet.

The band, which is made up of friends Saoirse Duane on guitar, drummer Caoimhe Barry and Karen Cowley on keys, celebrated the release of their debut EP The Widow Knows at a sell-out show in Dublin’s Smock Alley in October

Together the girls captivate crowds with their haunting vocals and perfect harmonies and have spent the last five years mastering their craft and writing songs.

Two thirds of the group provide backing vocals for Hozier and racked up credits with other acts that include Zaska, Samuel Vas-Y and Trinity Orchestra. Wyvern Lingo will support fellow Wicklow native Hozier on his sell-out Irish tour, which kicks off this Thursday at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.

The girls kicked off their sessions with an acapella rendition of ‘Used’, one of the highlights of our time at this year’s Electric Picnic.

The trio also performed a gorgeous acoustic version of latest track ‘Snow‘ before sitting down with with our girl Grace O’Reilly to chat about the pressures of songwriting, Twitter fans, and the great ‘expozier’ that comes with being a part of their good friend Hozier’s band.

Tickets for Wyvern Lingo’s headline show at The Sugar Club, Dublin on Thursday February 26th are priced €13.50 (including booking fee) and go on sale this Friday October 24th at 9am via Ticketmaster.

For more information on the band you can check out their Facebook page, Twitter and wyvernlingo.com.

The Sunday Sessions kicks off something incredibly special tomorrow at 11am, make sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled, we’ve a feeling you’re going to like it a lot!

The Sunday Sessions promises to bring you special performances and interviews from some of the most exciting emerging talent. Next week we return with some more phenomenal homegrown talent.
