The Sunday Sessions: The Riptide Movement Perform Exclusive Cover Track… That Ryan Gosling Fans Will Love

A brilliant cover from Lucan's best kept secret.

Lucan’s best kept secret, The Riptide Movement, joined us last week for Her.ie and JOE.ie’s new musical venture, The Sunday Sessions.

The Sunday Sessions, which promises to bring you special performances and interviews from some of the most exciting emerging talent, put the lads through their musical paces at The Workman’s Club in Dublin.

The Riptide Movement is made up of four friends, Mal Tuohy (vocals), Gar Byrne (drums, vocals), Ger McGarry (bass, harmonica, vocals) and JP Dalton (lead guitar, vocals).

Following a performance of up their latest track ‘You and I‘, Mal and Ger sat down with our girl Grace O’Reilly for a quick chat about the band’s upcoming single, Irish celebrity cameos and their love for Ryan Gosling – we can’t blame them, they’re only human after all.

The band chose Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall‘ as their cover track, taken from the famous Drive soundtrack.

Between sharing a stage with some of the world’s biggest acts, a number one album newly under their belt and their debut track ‘All Works Out‘ being announced as the soundtrack to Discover Ireland’s latest campaign, 2014 has been quite the year for the quartet. Something tells us these four will be gracing The Sunday Sessions once more before the year is out.

In case you missed it, here is that performance of their latest track ‘You and I’.
