This Is One Garth Brooks Show We’d DEFINITELY Pay Good Money To See

"Are you there Garth?"

The debacle surrounding those Garth Brooks concerts last summer has sparked the writing of a play.

“Are You There, Garth? It’s Me Margaret” will follow the life of a Garth Brooks superfan as she finds out the horrific news that his Irish shows have been cancelled.

The production will follow the emotional rollercoaster that Garth Brooks fans experienced last year, with the lead character being played by Moone Boy star and comedienne Deirdre O’Kane.

Written by Fiona Looney, the show will have a two-week run in Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre before heading around Ireland stopping off in Galway, Cork and Limerick.

The debacle last summer saw a number of statements from the I’ve Got Friends in Low Places singer.

“If the prime minister himself wants to talk to me, I will crawl, I will swim… I will drop on my knees and beg for those 400,000 people to have fun and come sing,” he said at the time.

“If anyone on the planet is sad about [the cancellations], you’re not one-billionth as sad as I am,” he later added.

We’ve a feeling that there are a lot of people in Ireland who will be able to empathise with Deirdre O’Kane’s character for this one!

Here’s some Irish people’s reactions to the news last year.
