Talk of John Ridley’s Jimi Hendrix biopic has been circulating for some time but a trailer for the upcoming movie has finally surfaced.
The footage gives a first look at Outkast’s Andre Benjamin as the legendary artist in Jimi: All Is By My Side, alongside Imogen Poots as model Linda Keith.
The movie, which will be released in August, covers a year in Hendrix’s life and charts his rise from being an unknown backup guitarist playing New York’s Cheetah Club to making his mark in London’s music scene, continuing up until his Monterey Pop triumph and presenting an intimate portrait of the sensitive young musician on the verge of becoming a rock legend.
