He may be regarded as one of the best songwriters of his generation but Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is receiving mixed reviews for his acceptance speech at last night’s BRIT Awards.
The band received the Best British Group and Album of the Year awards at the ceremony but Turner’s rambling speech has spawned a major Twitter debate, with many accusing the Sheffield singer of being “drunk” and “pretentious”.
