Warnings Issued Ahead of Kings of Leon Gig in Marlay Park Tonight

Promoters MCD have issued a warning to individuals attending tonight’s sold-out Kings of Leon concert in Marlay Park. 

Following reports of major delays getting to and from the venue for other full-capacity gigs at the venue, organisers have warned that fans must plan and book return travel arrangements in advance.

Marathon return shuttle bus departures from Dublin city centre to the event are now sold out until 18:00. Traffic delays are deemed “inevitable”, and fans have been told to allow at least an additional two hours of travel time.

Extra buses have now been added for 18:30 and 19:00 departures, and a limited number of bus tickets are available for sale on a first come first serve basis.

A weather warning is also in place. Punters have been told to expect rain, and are asked to bring rain gear as no umbrellas will be allowed on site.   

MCD warn: “Concert-goers should make use of public transport or car-pool and allow themselves plenty of additional travel time (at least an extra 2 hours travel time) as traffic delays are inevitable despite the implementation of the Garda Traffic Management Plan and An Garda Siochana’s Security Operation”.

The shuttle bus is the most direct form of transport to the concert – as the drop off point is directly outside the venue. The shuttle bus service will operate for all concerts from custom house quay in the city centre direct to Marlay Park. http://www.marathonsportsbooking.ie/
