An Irish woman reduced music legend Tom Jones to tears during Saturday night’s The Voice UK.
Sharon Murphy, 52, made a profound impact on all of the judges but Welsh singer Jones was left quite emotional following her rendition of Forever Young for the hit talent show.
Sharon revealed that she had been brought up in an orphanage in Ireland and was supported on the night by a number of friends who cheered her on behind the scenes.
Tom, who Sharon later picked to be her mentor, spoke of how Sharon’s life experience and strength came through her music and added that she had touched his heart with her haunting song.
