A really special moment.
The lady of the hour, Adele, took to the stage for her NBC special Adele: Live From New York, and it seems the emotion got a little too much for her.
Not only was it her first full live show, but it was also the first time her entire show was broadcast, something she was understandably incredibly nervous about.
She told the audience during the performance: “We’ve been planning it for months and I’m just so happy and before the show I was like, ‘Oh God I want it to be over,’ because I was so nervous, but I’ve managed to remember every moment of this show.”
She explained why she had kept details of the show so close to her chest, tearfully explaining: “I know I’ve been quiet.
“I just wanted to come back and surprise you. I didn’t want to tell you anything because I wanted it to be a surprise. I feel like this is the start now.”
But it wasn’t until the credits started rolling at the end that she really let go.
As cameras followed her backstage, she could be seen sobbing into her friends arms in the elevator.
