We’re so over wellies: boots to wear to a festival that aren’t plastic

Cathy Donohue

When it comes to festival dressing, wellies are the usual go-to given the unpredictable nature of Irish weather.

However, let’s be honest, they’re downright ugly and we’re completely sick of them.

Thinking back to the good old days of Oxegen, floral print and striped wellies were all the rage but not anymore, no, please NO.

Now the practical side of us says that any boots you do wear will get ruined but if you’re willing to sacrifice sense for style, right this way…

Black leather wide fit buckle boot, €60 at River Island

At first glance, you could easily mistake these for a Chloé pair and they’re pure festival perfection thanks to the Western trend.

MAGGIE Suede Ankle Boot, €103

Utterly impractical but oh SO gorgeous. Maybe it’s best to reserve these for a festival where there’s no mucky grass in sight.

Saz Tan Embroidered Fringed Boots, €47.25

Embroidered, tick. Fringe, tick. Tan, tick. These boots tick every trend going and we LOVE them. They’re also flat so you’ll stay comfy and really, what more could you ask for from festival footwear?

Brown leopard print pointed flat ankle boots, €41.00 at Missguided

You can never go wrong with leopard print and these ankle boots are only gorgeous altogether. They’re reduced from €48 to €41 and even teaming these with an all black outfit, statement sunnies and a khaki jacket will have you festival ready in next to no time.
