Anonymous Wage Cyber War on ISIS
Internet Hacking Group, Anonymous have declared “war” on Isis, promising to disable social media accounts and extremist websites. In a video posted online, a member of the Internet campaign group warns the Islamic State.
“Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down,” said the voice in the video, which included footage of the group’s famous Guy Fawkes mask and was in French. “You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go.
“We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.
“Expect massive cyber attacks. War is declared. Get prepared.
“The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”
Anonymous have been working to deactivate support for Isis online for the past number of months. The group is particularly active on Twitter where they have identified Isis accounts and reported them to the site to be removed. Following the Charlie Hebbo attacks, the group has claimed responsibility for hacking and removing extremist websites.
